Chances

Some of you may read the ever-so-lovely blog- SummerB...if so, you may have seen her post yesterday called "A Note on Your Nightstand."
She posed this question:
"If you left a note on your nightstand, saying one thing, what would it say?"
I thought this was a really neat post and it really made me think. We all live busy, hectic lives so it's nice to stop and think, what's one thing I need to be reminded of? Because at the end of the day, life is short, and does it really matter if we have a long list of things to do?-{drop off clothes at the cleaners, don't forget to put gas in your car, so & so's birthday is coming up- make sure to pick up a card, etc, etc}. The list could go on and on...but instead of leaving your to-do list on your nightstand, why not leave a little happy reminder?
So after much thinking, I concluded that my note on my nightstand would look something like this...

Okay, okay, so it may be lyrics from one of my favorite songs, however, it's so true!

Here is one of my favorite quotes that relates to chances (yes, as you can see, I'm a sucker for a good quote!):

"Don't ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive and then go do that. Because that is what this world needs is people who have come alive."

Sometimes this involves taking chances. How will we ever know if we don't try? Obviously it's easier said than done. It's easy to be scared. Scared of what? The unknown? Scared to fail? Of course. But isn't it failing if you don't even try?

So take a chance...(and in the mean-time, listen to one of my favorite songs!)

What would your note on your nightstand say?

P.S. I can't take credit for this photo. My super, awesome brother took this picture yesterday on his phone and sent it to me! He was waiting at the bus stop on campus and this bus pulled up! How cool is that school?

  2. haha i have to admit, i first thought of my husband who used to literally leave a note on his nightstand that said, "Norman". It was so that he wouldn't forget to pick his friend Norman up in the morning! hahaha It always made me laugh because who would really forget to pick up a friend? I think he was just nervous that he might :) I think my post would say something like, "Live fully & Love All" or something to that matter...what a fun prompt! and i love the bus photo your bro sent ya...i want my child to go to that school :)
