Birthday Celebration!

This past weekend there was lots of celebrating going on!

This sweet little girl turned ONE!

And her parents were super proud!

So were all her family members!

It was a great day for a fun birthday party!

First we had cake...

Then it was time for presents...

Everyone had a great time!

I was extra happy because I got to see my best little buddy, T!

It's crazy how fast time flies! All the kiddos are getting so big!

Even Delaney couldn't believe it was her 1st birthday!

But she sure enjoyed it!

Answer: A FUN night of painting and wine at Pinot's Palette!

The other night I went with my new, sweet friend, J, to try our hand at painting! It was a lot of fun and I will definitely be back. I was off to a little bit of a rough start (you know, being a Type-A, perfectionist/accountant), but after some fun painting techniques and a few more sips of wine, I was starting to get the hang of it! Here is a picture of our art half-way through the class...

There were about 30 people total in the class and the teacher kept it fun and interesting! I highly recommend trying this out if your town offers something similar. It makes for a fun night out because you can also bring in your own food and drinks (*Thanks M, for introducing me to the lovely Wine Cube! We had about three people ask us what we were drinking!)

Arts-N-Crafts

This week's Photo Challenge is "Arts-N-Crafts." I took this picture when I was visiting New Orleans last year. We spent an afternoon walking through the French Quarter District doing a little shopping, eating and sight-seeing! I loved this area, it was so neat! On that particular weekend there were artists set up all around in the streets showcasing their talents! I stopped and watched this man for about 5 minutes. Gosh, I wish I could draw free-hand like that!

Back to School!

Being a big nerd at heart, I used to love this time of year! I looked forward to the new school year and loved everything about it from the new backpacks to the new first day of school outfits to the best of all, new school supplies! Since school is now a distant memory for me, I usually find myself living through my younger brother. However, not this year! I'm going back to school!

Well, not REAL school...but FUN school! Fun for me anyways! And look what arrived at my doorstep just the other day... a new "backpack"! aka the most perfect camera bag that I've had my eye on for a long time. Plus, it's purple! My favorite color!

Starting September 6th I will be a student in SIMPLICITY'S photography e-course!

I can't wait to get started! If you are interested, it's not too late to register!

Hawaiian Luau

This past weekend my wonderful group of friends all got together to help throw a fun, luau-style couples shower! We had a blast and everything turned out fantastic! The ice cold drinks and fun water mister kept us cool in this steamy Texas heat!
