Building a Nest

A few weeks ago I started to notice that one of my hanging plants wasn't doing so well. I first blamed it on the Texas heat and my missing a few days of watering...however, I soon discovered we had ourselves a little visitor.

She started building a nest and making herself a little home! (In the shade, mind you! Smart little birdy!) I had so much fun watching her! On a daily basis I'd head out back with my camera to see what she was up to. IMG_2113-1w
Some days she wanted nothing to do with me... IMG_2087-1w
Others she was a little more willing to show her face!IMG_2088-1w
Finally one day I decided to take out the ladder and see what was going on in that little nest of hers. IMG_2094-1w
I was excited to find two small surprises!

Needless to say, I got a little 'camera-happy'!IMG_2132-1w
She, on the other hand, was not too pleased about this!IMG_2143-1w
After hiding behind the hibiscus plant, and trying to coax her with a little bit of sweet talking... ("please just give me one cool shot for my blog! I'll be forever grateful!")...I was just about ready to give up... IMG_2160-1w
and then I got this shot! Thank you mama-bird and baby-bird! IMG_2115-1w
Sweet Shot Day

Stay tuned for a few more shots of our winged visitors! Last Friday the baby birds started flapping their wings getting ready to fly!
