11.18.1999 2:42am

Ten years ago today Texas A&M University was forever changed.

November 18, 1999 Bonfire collapsed, killing 12 Aggies and injuring 27.

"Bonfire didn't build the spirit of Texas A&M, the spirit of Texas A&M built the bonfire. The spirit isn't dead. It's here tonight and will continue forever."

Bonfire Remembrance Day is observed each year on November 18 in recognition of the tragedy that brought A&M's 90-year-old tradition to a halt. Bonfire, built each November before the A&M vs. University of Texas football game, symbolized the Aggie's burning desire to beat UT.

Please keep the Aggie family in your thoughts and prayers today...

Love Birds

This past weekend I had the pleasure of taking engagement photos for my best friend! When I was asked to be the one to take some pictures of these two love birds, I was honored, but at the same time my nerves were trying to get the best of me! I mean, HELLO! these are your best friend's engagement pics...this doesn't happen everyday!
What I came to find out however, is that when you have a best friend who is fun, lovable, genuine, kind and always happy, and that best friend has a future hubby with all those same qualities, the job is much easier*! So,without further ado...here is a quick look at just a FEW of my many favorites from Saturday. Be sure to stay tuned for more pictures of this cute couple's photo shoot!

Can't wait for your BIG day in 2010!
*Special thanks to my partner-in-crime, D. Without you, there would be no D in "DASH" Photography!

Hanging proudly...

To all the victims of Ft. Hood, America's prayers are with you. To all the men and women in the armed forces, God Bless you for your service and sacrifice to our great country.
Dear Heavenly Father, so many are hurting at this time, so many injured and fallen. I pray Lord for their comfort, the comfort of their families, the rapid healing of the wounded, and for this sad and failing country Lord. Please Father, make an impact on the leadership of this nation, restore this country to its origin of love and respect, and mostly of YOU. Lord we say in GOD WE TRUST, let us fall back on the critical need to put YOU back in our leadership, our homes, our schools, and our hearts. God please give the peace that passes understanding that only comes from YOU, to all affected by this heinous crime. In the name of Jesus we pray.

I think we have the birthday bug around here! So many family and friends have birthdays this time of year...but today is extra special! Today is this little girl's 1st birthday!
Happy Birthday Peyton Elizabeth! I can't believe it's already been one year.
Time goes by so fast...
Can you make it slow down?
I'm sure mommy & daddy would appreciate that very much.
It seems like just yesterday your Uncle D & I were flying out to visit you!
We were so excited...
and can't wait to see you again!
Happy Birthday sweet girl!
Enjoy your cake!

Halloween Fun!

We celebrated Halloween this past weekend with our friends at A & C's house! It was a fun, relaxing night with lots of cute costumes and yummy goodies.
As you can see, C loves to decorate for Halloween!

Sweet K as a precious, little flower...

Look at that smile and those big blue eyes!
D made a new friend!
A & K got into the Halloween spirit!
Little K was having so much fun crawling all over the place...
She even wanted to help hand out candy to the trick-or-treaters!
Then she found a new friend too!
